Benzyltriethylammonium chloride, referred to as BTEAC, is a quaternary ammonium salt used primarily as a phase-transfer catalyst. It facilitates the transfer of ionic reactants between immiscible phases, most commonly aqueous and organic, increasing their availability in the reaction environment.
