So-called fatty emollient. Purely applied to the skin, it can be comedogenic, i.e. promote the formation of blackheads. Used in skin and hair care products, it creates an occlusive layer (film) on the surface, which prevents excessive evaporation of water from the surface, i.e. indirect moisturizing effect, thus conditioning, i.e. softening and smoothing the skin and hair.
