EWALAN 25 is a semi-refined technical lanolin, intended primarily for technical and temporary cosmetic applications where the raw material does not remain on the skin for long periods. It is a complex mixture of esters, diesters, hydroxyesters, aliphatic alcohols, and lanolin sterols, obtained from sheep wool wax.
Compared to pharmaceutical and highly refined lanolins, EWALAN 25 has a more technical quality profile and a darker color, but retains the key properties of lanolin: water resistance, lubrication, the ability to form a protective film, and good compatibility with lipid systems. Its low water content makes it well-suited for applications where stability, moisture resistance, and protective and lubricating properties are essential.
EWALAN 25 is particularly interesting for manufacturers of soaps, technical products, surface treatment agents, skin care products, and natural materials, as well as for applications requiring an economical lanolin fraction with good lubricating properties. In cosmetics, it is recommended primarily for rinse-off products or those in which the raw material serves as an auxiliary ingredient rather than as a premium leave-on emollient.
